Why is SEO Note freeware?
SEO Note is free for personal and business use. You may install it and share the original installer with others. See the User Agreement.

Three builds ship from this site. SEO Note 2.1 is the current one: an Electron app (about 121 MB installer) for Windows 10/11 64-bit and Linux x64, with Markdown, the tree editor, AI talking to a model you connect — a local one or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, a web clipper and git sync of the file. For Android 6.0 and newer there is a release-signed APK (~10 MB) of the same interface; on the phone notes live as a folder of Markdown files on the device, and passwords, sync, the clipper and AI answer there with an explicit refusal. The classic build 1.3.34 (~2.5 MB, Win32) stays on the download page for Windows 7, 8 and 32-bit PCs, where 2.1 does not install; its notes file is .seo. Does SEO Note contain adware or spyware?
No. The program stores your notes in local files on your computer; neither the program nor the website shows ads. The only counter on the website is the anonymized Yandex.Metrica (without Webvisor), which can be switched off with the «Decline» button in the cookie notice.

Does SEO Note require the Internet or a cloud account?
No. Notes stay in a local file on your PC. You can work fully offline.

How do I back up my notes?
Copy the SEO Note data file to another disk, USB stick or encrypted archive — like any important document.

Is there a portable version? Does it run on Windows 7?
No build ships as a PortableApps zip — every one of them installs. The current 2.1 (Electron, about 121 MB) is for Windows 10/11 64-bit and Linux; the classic 1.3.34 (~2.5 MB, Win32) stays on the download page for Windows 7, 8 and 32-bit PCs. What formats can I import or export?
Common formats such as .txt, .md and .html.

What are useful hotkeys?
Insert — child note; Ctrl+Shift+Insert — sibling; F2 — rename; Ctrl+S — save; Ctrl+F — find; Ctrl+N / Ctrl+O — new / open file. More in Hot Keys and Quick Start.

How is SEO Note different from OneNote?
